Our Dental Technology
Where Your Smile Begins
Calgary, Alberta
"Dr. Cload has the computer technology to put my jaw and muscle in a relaxed position. What a relief no more pain. Thanks Dr. Cload and team! Juliana
VELscope
VELscope is an FDA-approved oral cancer screening device that can see changes in tissue invisible to the naked eye. VELscope is safe, noninvasive, and uses a special blue light to detect abnormalities.
Digital Radiographs
Digital computer technology allows us to take radiographs using up to 70% less radiation. The images can be easily scanned for view by staff and patients on a large screen format.
Digital Intra-Oral Cameras
The digital intra-oral cameras gives us an intimate view into the inner workings of your mouth. The tiny camera is only the size of a pen, and the images are projected at 40x larger than life. Not only do we get to diagnose and treat problems much earlier, we are able to help patients truly understand their tooth and gum issues with a close-up, visual representation.
DIAGNOdent
Our digital radiographs and DIAGNOdent system work together to produce amazing diagnostic capabilities. DIAGNOdent is helpful for finding cavities that may hide in the grooves of teeth, thanks to a safe laser-light system.
Soft Tissue Diode Laser
The soft tissue laser is used to reshape uneven or excess gum tissue for a more attractive smile. It is also used in the treatment of gingivitis and periodontitis. Now gum treatments are faster and less uncomfortable than in the past.
Zoom! Tooth Whitening
Our team is excited to offer Zoom! tooth whitening. Zoom! is an extremely fast process that is only performed by a dental professional. With one visit, Dr. Cload isolates the teeth that need whitened and applies the Zoom! bleaching gel directly to the teeth. The special bleaching properties of the gel react to the Zoom! high intensity light that is directed at your teeth. The gel absorbs the light, gently penetrates your teeth and breaks up discoloration to effectively whiten your teeth!
Neuromuscular Technology (for the treatment of TMJ/TMD disorders)
Electromyography (EMG)
Muscle activity is measured with surface electromyography, a technology very similar to an electrocardiogram. Thin wires are attached to the skin by adhesive patches, and the tiny electrical signals emitted by your muscles are detected and sent to the computer for analysis. The greater your muscle activity, the greater the signal strength is that allows us to compare your muscle activity before and after relaxation.Sonography
On some occasions, we may want to also study the sounds of your jaw joints. If so, it is done with electrical sonography. A headset is worn to hold microphone -like sensors over each jaw joint. The sensors detect the joint sound vibrations and transmit the sound data to the computer as you open and close your mouth.K7 Computerized Jaw Scanning
Advanced jaw scanning utilizes a small magnet placed in front of your lower front teeth. A sensory array, worn like a pair of glasses, is used to measure and record your jaw movements. This allows us to compare your present uncomfortable bite to the ideal relaxed jaw position.Myo-Monitor
The myo-monitor is a device that delivers a mild electrical impulse to the muscles that move the lower jaw. This rhythmic pulsing (once every 1.5 seconds) relaxes the muscles by increasing the blood flow. The process usually takes about 45 to 60 minutes and is a very relaxing. The myo-monitor is also used to stimulate the jaw when we assess your relaxed jaw movements.
